How to service and repair the front rack and pinion steering gear on Mercury Mountaineer?

To maintain the rack and pinion as well as keep out foreign material and hold the steering wheel. Take off front tires, bolts, parts, and assemble new parts and tighten them to required torque. Unscrew disconnect lines, change tie-rod end nuts and eliminate rack. Install in the reverse sequence making sure of correct torque and fluid.
