How to service and repair the Steering Angle Sensor on Mercury Mountaineer?

The first step to work on the Steering Angle Sensor involves disconnecting the battery ground cable. Begin by disassembling the steering column starting with the bolt removal of the three lower steering column cover and removal of both lower and upper steering column covers. The steering wheel rotation sensor electrical connector must detach before you uninstall its securing bolts. Remove and keep the sensor. The installation process of the new sensor requires following the opposite steps from disassembly.
