Open the tailgate and support it before removing all 7 bolts and 4 pin-type retainers in addition to the tailgate access panel. Reinstall the bolts at 5 Nm (44 lb-in force) when completing the procedure. Before you use a clip utility to extract the actuating rod from the remote control within the tailgate and peel the locator off its position on the gate. Discount the closure bolts on the tailgate latch and apply torque to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) during its reinstallation. The tailgate installation ends with removal of the tailgate latch actuating rod followed by reversing all previous disassembly actions.
