How to service the rear wiper switch on Mercury Mountaineer?

In order to service the rear wiper switch, the instrument panel finish panel is removed by removing two screws. Next disconnect connectors and remove the center instrument panel finish panel. Take out the rear wiper/washer switch by unscrewing its rear, unscrewing its mounting bezel then detaching it by releasing two tabs. Install in reverse.

To fix the wiper switch, disconnect battery ground, lock cylinder of ignition switch and steering column shrouds. Screw and unscrew the multi-function switch. Once more, reconnect the battery, which the vehicle may require 16 km (10 mi) to adjust. Un-installation.
