How to Service the Heated Oxygen Sensor on Mercury Mystique?

The service of a heated oxygen sensor should begin with the removal of the engine splash shield. It starts by disconnecting the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector then removing the wiring harness from its retaining clip. The service begins by removing first the air conditioning hose retaining nut followed by the step to remove the power assisted steering hose retaining nut. Before removing the heated oxygen sensor you need to disconnect both the coolant hose retaining studs along with the dipstick tube and lifting eye retaining bolts. The exhaust manifold heat shield requires removal before you can extract both the heated oxygen sensor. To install the part you should perform the steps in opposite order of removal.
