Service and repair of floor shift selector lever cable and bracket must start with the removal of the center console. Activate the tab on the cable to release it from the housing of the selector lever and afterward from the transaxle range selector lever. You should take out the rear air distribution duct and then peel back the passenger compartment insulation to detach the rubber grommet from the bulkhead. First detach the selector lever cable from its position on the manual lever and eliminate it from the transmission shift cable bracket by depressing both tabs from the cable. Place the selector lever cable inside the vehicle while performing the removal process. To mount the selector lever cable you should first lead it inside the vehicle from floor access before following the reversal of the removal directions. Insert the overdrive position on the selector lever before connecting the selector lever cable to the transmission base.
