How to Service and Repair the Shift Knob on a Transmission Control (TC) Switch on Mercury Sable?

To replace the shift knob of a car that has a transmission control (TC) switch, loosen the trim of the shift bezel, the upper console panel, and the lower shift knob bezel. Unhook the connector of TC switch and unhook the shift knob. Installation requires reconnection of TC switch, fastening of knob and replacing the console.

How to service and repair the Shift Knob with a Transmission Control Switch (TCS) on Mercury Sable?

In order to repair the shift knob which has a Transmission Control Switch (TCS), strip away the shift trim ring and center cup holder panel. Unconnect the connector of TCS, de-assemble the shift knob and bezel. To install, re-connect the TCS, fasten the tabs and reassemble the parts.
