  A: Service of the vacuum brake booster requires first removing the air cleaner assembly while also disconnecting the brake fluid level switch electrical connector. The first action should be to remove the Brake Master Cylinder and safely set aside the shift cable assembly. You should disassemble the Electronic Hydraulic Control Unit (EHCU) and separate its clamp and vacuum hose. Remove the brake pedal clevis pin first then proceed to disassemble the brake booster nuts and then extract the brake booster unit together with its push rod pivot bracket. The push rod pivot bracket needs to be transferred to the new brake booster followed by push rod adjustment before reinstalling the parts to finish the installation.
