The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module inside the Electronic Brake Control Module becomes vulnerable to electrical damage when exposed because it shows sensitivity to electricity. Brake fluid as well as foreign materials must stay away from the mating side of the ABS module so that solenoids remain undamaged. The first step requires HCU removal before detachment of the ABS module through screw removal from four locations. Tighten the new module screws to achieve 5 Nm (44 lb-in). Visual inspection of the ABS module terminals should be done before installation while using the reversed removal steps to finish the installation process.

Handling of the ABS Module needs special care because it responds strongly to electric charge and can get damaged when detected electricity. Before starting work begin by detaching the hydraulic control unit (HCU). Use pliers to remove four screws on the ABS module then disconnect this module while keeping brake fluid and foreign particles away from the mating side to guard the solenoids against harm. During installation of the new ABS module you should adjust screws to 5 Nm torque settings then inspect ABS module terminals for damages before adding it. Reinstall the hydraulic parts after turning the system back into its original state.
