Service and repair operations for the alternator start with disconnecting the battery from the system. The first step requires removal of the nut and engine cover and a tight installation to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque should be applied before reassembly. First rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner in the clockwise direction before making preparations to set the accessory drive belt aside. After disconnecting the generator electrical connector you can secure the protective boot to one side and unscrew the generator B+ terminal nut with plans to tighten this junction to 12 Nm (106 lb-in) upon reinstallation. Start by taking out the battery cable harness pushpin mounted on the generator bracket before removing the 4 bolts holding the bracket in place. Reinstall these bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Remove the 2 bolts which secure the generator and attach them with a torque of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) during reinstallation. Follow the steps to remove the cap and nut as well as the radial adapter. Then reinstall these components by tightening them to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). A complete procedure finish requires you to perform the reverse steps of the removal procedure.

Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

Loosen the 2 bolts to remove the generator, and upon reinstallation, tighten these bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
