Wiper Transmission

The service of wiper arm and pivot shaft requires you to start by taking out the cowl panel grille. Before installation, fasten the evaporative emission canister purge valve while it rests aside and place the two nuts at 6 Nm (53 lb-in). The wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft need six bolts removed for proper positioning before installation when bolts need to be tightened to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). The windshield wiper motor electrical connector must be disconnected together with the two harness pushpins while detaching the windshield washer hose before separating the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft. You should remove the wiper motor assembly at the end of this process after reversing the steps of removal.

You should start servicing the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft by taking out the cowl grille. First unscrew the two nuts from the evaporative emission canister purge valve before placing it with care while you tighten it to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) when reinstalling it. Remove the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft by taking out their six bolts before put them in position while tightening the bolts to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). The wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft removal requires disconnecting both the windshield wiper motor electrical connector and windshield washer hose. Finished installation requires the reverse sequence of uninstallation steps.
