The service process for the rear seat armrest starts with removing the rear seat cushion and continuing with removal of the 60 percent rear seat backrest. To gain access to the armrest-to-backrest bolts one should first free the lower J-strip and then partially rotate the backrest trim cover inward. You must first detach the four armrest-to-backrest bolts and support plate. The installation requires horizontal adjustment of the armrest and subsequent tightening of bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Before reinstalling the armrest and bracket assembly to the backrest maintain correct alignment of the bracket locator tab to the backrest frame while setting it aside. To remove the armrest assembly the operator should push out function the four pin retainer pins on the backrest to disconnect the trim panel and detach both parts. The remaining fragment of any broken retainer should go through the backrest frame before adding a brand new pin-type retainer for reassembly. Both backrest assembly removal needs to be followed by integrating the 60 percent segment before installing the rear seat cushion in the final stage.

You must start the seat armrest service process by taking out the rear seat cushion then uninstalling the 60 percent rear seat backrest. After releasing the lower J-strip one can invert the backrest trim cover partially to reveal the armrest-to-backrest bolts for removal. These four armrest-to-backrest bolts and the support plate must be removed in that sequential order. Adjust the horizontal placement of the armrest before securing its bolts with 10 Nm torque and 89 lb-in force. The next step requires separating the armrest and bracket assembly from the backrest before setting them aside correctly while keeping the backrest frame aligned to the location tab of the armrest bracket. Pressing the four pin-type retainers allows you to pull off the armrest trim cover panel from the backrest and proceed to remove the armrest assembly. The remaining portion of broken retainers can be pushed through into the backrest frame until new pin-type retainers get installed before reassembly. You should begin the reinstallation process by first reversing the removal procedure before putting on both the 60 percent rear seat backrest assembly and the rear seat cushion.
