Before working on the battery cables you must disconnect the battery power source. Tighten the battery ground cable terminal to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) after positioning it to the edge while removing the screw. The bolt should be removed followed by a setting aside of the battery cable harness bracket which needs to be tightened to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) upon placement. Fit the battery ground cable terminal next to the body while ensuring a torque of 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) after installation. Put the battery ground cable eyelet aside after removing the bolt and restore its strength to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). The starter solenoid wire terminal should be placed aside before tightening to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) torque when reinstalling. The next step requires removal of the nut together with the starter solenoid positive cable terminal which should be tightened to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) during installation. After nut removal, position the generator B+ cable terminal and the power distribution box (PDB) cable terminal aside and tighten them to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) during reinstallation. First disconnect the electrical connector of the starter relay and then disconnect the battery cable assembly. The terminal removal procedure should be reversed during the process of installation completion.

Remove the 5 pin-type retainers and the upper radiator air deflector, then remove the nut and position the power distribution box (PDB) cable terminal aside, tightening to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) upon installation.

Disconnect and remove the passenger compartment electric heater battery cable assembly.

Remove the screw to position the battery ground cable terminal aside, and upon installation, tighten it to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
