    Q:
How to remove and replace the front bumper cover on Ford Escape? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for bumper cover replacement requires applying tape on both corners and under each headlamp to minimize paint damage. Position the vehicle in the NEUTRAL gear on a hoist. Initiate the process by removing six scrivets inside the front splash shield where three scrivets are situated on each side. The front bumper replacement requires removing the fender splash shield-to-air deflector bolts from both sides before installation where the bolts should be tightened to 5 Nm (44 lb-in). You should take out the 3 air deflector bolts before their reinstallation by using 5 Nm (44 lb-in) torque value. You must remove the 2 front bumper cover center scrivets before disconnecting any fog lamp electrical connectors which may be present. The installation procedure requires disconnection of the 2 upper bolts that secure the front bumper cover followed by the cover removal. Reinstall these bolts at 8 Nm (71 lb-in) torque. The front bumper cover can be installed by repositioning and pressing on each side at the headlamp bottom corner until the bumper slides lock into place.
