Front Cable

You should start the front parking brake cable service by first taking out the console assembly and pulling the tab slide handle up. The parking brake control requires attention due to its spring tension on the tension arm that may result in accidental injuries. The screwdriver tool serves to lower and flatten the tension arm before releasing the screwdriver during the process. The conduit retainer needs to be depressed with a 13 mm box-end wrench while removing the cable anchor pin to separate the parking brake cable from the control. First lift the vehicle before disassembling rear parking brake cables from their position and taking out the equalizer. Stop the front cable grommet from the floor by snapping it out while removing the cable from its installation position. Mechanics wire should be tied to the old cable and conduit to help with the new cable installation. Using a 13 mm box-end wrench to depress the conduit retaining prongs enables the removal of parking brake cable and conduit. The last step for installation requires following the opposite sequence of removal actions.
