Begin the service of muffler and tailpipe by placing the vehicle into NEUTRAL mode on a hoist system. The exhaust system demands support with an appropriate jackstand during service while exhaust handling needs to remain free from excessive bending or twisting and should not include dangling from the flexible pipe to prevent system damage and the converter needs supplementary support from a jackstand. The service starts with removing the Torca(R) clamp and disconnecting the ground clip from the exhaust hanger. The removal of 4 or 5 muffler and tailpipe isolators requires soapy water to slowly separate them from the vehicle while preventing any damage or tearing. After separation you can detach the muffler and tailpipe from the catalytic converter before removing them. Reverse the removal steps for installation while examining any damaged muffler or tailpipe isolators that required replacement after the process. The inspection process ends with engine start-up to detect exhaust leaks.

The first step for muffler and tailpipe servicing and repair requires the vehicle to be set to NEUTRAL and placed on a hoist.
