Air Cleaner Assembly

Service of the air filter box starts by disconnecting the power connection of the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Release the clamp after disconnecting the air filter box outlet pipe from the air filter box but return it to a torque of 5 Nm (44 lb-in) when you reinstall it. Service the air filter box assembly by taking out its two bolts which must have a torque of 5 Nm (44 lb-in) upon reinstallation. The air filter box assembly requires separation of its feet from the rubber grommets before removal. The two air filter box feet should fit entirely into the rubber grommets found beneath the air filter box assembly after achieving proper bolt specifications. The air filter box outlet pipe needs to be properly sealed to block all unmetered engine air ingress. The procedure ends by performing a backward version of all original removal steps.

Ensure that the two air cleaner feet are properly seated into the rubber grommets beneath the air cleaner assembly and that the bolts are tightened to specification.
