Condenser

The service procedure for the HVAC condenser core marks replacement of the suction accumulator unnecessary until clear signs appear showing system contamination after a failed A/C compressor or suction accumulator damage. A leak test should be conducted to verify a condenser core leak before core removal. The Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure should be performed first before the radiator is removed. The installation process starts by disconnecting both lines from the A/C condenser core inlet and outlet before removing the nuts which enables hose disconnection. First remove the A/C condenser core by removing its brackets along with the bolts. Follow all uninstalled procedures when putting the A/C condenser core into position. Install the new A/C condenser core by using PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent product within Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. Service the oil on all O-ring seals with this PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil.

Start service of the HVAC condenser by recovering all refrigerants first. Begin the service process by first removing the upper radiator sight shield and the bolts holding the radiator brackets in place while paying attention to the right-hand radiator bracket that serves as an example for the left-hand bracket. The condenser core A/C lines need their nuts removed before bracket bolts can be taken out where the right-hand bracket illustrates while the left-hand bracket follows the same procedure. The condenser core becomes ready for removal following all steps. To install the system follow the opposite removal steps and replace the O-rings with new ones lubricated in PAG oil before lubricating the system with required amounts of clean PAG oil. Replacement of a suction accumulator will be needed only after detecting physical evidence of system pollutants from an A/C compressor failure or suction accumulator damage or when a condenser core leak requires testing before removal.

The replacement of the suction accumulator should only be done when the HVAC condenser shows system contamination from a failed A/C compressor or suction accumulator damage. Check for leaks in the A/C condenser core through testing before proceeding with its removal. Begin by conducting the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure and afterward remove the radiator. The A/C condenser core inlet and outlet lines require disconnecting and nut removal before hose separation. Decide to discard the core unit of the A/C condenser after disassembling brackets and A/C core bolts. Follow the reverse order of the removal process for installation while performing core service with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent that matches Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. Also perform O-ring seal lubrication using this PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil.

Recovery of the refrigerant must precede servicing the HVAC condenser core. First remove the upper radiator sight shield then disconnect the condenser line fittings by rotting away the nuts while keeping the O-ring seals for disposal. Start by disassembling starting with both RH and LH radiator brackets then proceed to remove bolts from the RH and LH condenser core brackets. The condenser core must be removed from the unit as a next step. Moves air deflectors from the expired condenser core to the new replacement unit during installation. Follow the removal steps in reverse order to install the components while using new O-ring seals that need PAG oil lubrication before installing with appropriate PAG oil coverage. The system requires a series of evacuation and charging procedures together with refrigerant leak checks as the last step.

Take out the condenser core.

Take off the two condenser fitting nuts and disconnect the condenser fittings, discarding the O-ring seals.
