    Q:
How to service the thermostat housing on Ford Five Hundred? Posted by Customer
    A:
The cooling system requires draining as the first step for servicing the thermostat housing. The first step involves removing the air cleaner assembly before disconnecting the degas bottle-to-thermostat housing hose which should then be placed aside. The installation will start by unplugging the throttle body-to-thermostat housing hose followed by disconnecting the upper radiator-to-thermostat housing hose and the bypass tube-to-thermostat housing hose and finally the heater hose from the thermostat housing and the lower radiator-to-thermostat housing hose. Keep each hose aside. Use a screwdriver to disconnect the two bolts that fasten the thermostat housing and dispose of the existing O-ring seal. Install new O-rings to the thermostat housing before tightening bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Also apply clean engine coolant for lubrication on the O-rings. The cooling system filling and bleeding operations must take place to finalize the work.

    Q:
How to service the thermostat housing on Ford Freestyle? Posted by Customer
    A:
Draining the cooling system should be the first step for servicing the thermostat housing. The next step involves removing the air cleaner assembly before disconnecting the degas bottle-to-thermostat housing hose which should be placed aside. Carefully separate the hose connecting the throttle body to the thermostat housing and the hose linking the upper radiator to the housing before disconnecting the bypass tube-to-thermostat housing hose as well as the heater hose from the housing and the lower radiator-to-thermostat housing hose then put all parts aside. The two thermostat housing bolts should be removed and the O-ring seal needs disposing. For the new thermostat housing installation, apply 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) tightening torque to the bolts while you should place a new O-ring with clean engine coolant lubricant before inserting it into the thermostat housing. To finish the procedure you should fill and bleed the cooling system.

    Q:
How to service the thermostat housing on Mercury Montego? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the thermostat housing service operation with cooling system draining. The air cleaner assembly needs removal first followed by disconnecting the two thermostat housing coolant hoses while keeping them safe. You should first detach all four hoses including the upper radiator-to-thermostat housing, bypass tube-to-thermostat housing, heater hose from the thermostat housing and lower radiator-to-thermostat housing before setting them aside. The two thermostat housing bolts need removal and you should dispose of its replacement O-ring seal. Follow the removal steps in reverse order while installing a fresh O-ring on the thermostat housing that requires engine coolant lubrication after which secure the bolts at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Complete the process by filling and bleeding the system cooling mechanism.
