    Q:
How to service the auxiliary evaporator core on Ford Freestar? Posted by Customer
    A:
First remove the auxiliary climate control housing followed by removing six screws on the auxiliary evaporator core cover while finally removing the cover. Test the inlet connection of the TXV until clocking tightness to 16 Nm before discarding the O-ring and putting on the new fitting. The next step requires users to remove the auxiliary evaporator outlet fitting followed by the disposal of both O-ring seals. Pull out both the auxiliary evaporator core unit as well as its integrated seal. The installation follows the opposite removal sequence while using new o-ring seals and properly lubricating the refrigerant system with PAG oil. Installation of a new suction accumulator becomes necessary only after proving that either the failed A/C compressor has caused system contamination or when the suction accumulator shows signs of damage along with evidence of an evaporator core leak which requires a vacuum leak test before removal.

    Q:
How to service and repair the evaporator core in the auxiliary climate control system on Mercury Monterey? Posted by Customer
    A:
Commence evaporator core servicing and repairing of the auxiliary climate control system by first removing the auxiliary climate control housing and unscrewing the six fasteners of the auxiliary evaporator core cover. You should disconnect the auxiliary TXV inlet fitting after removing the cover then discard the O-ring seal before tightening it to 16 Nm (12 lb-ft). Every step starts with disconnecting the auxiliary evaporator outlet fitting and throwing away both O-ring seals. Remove the auxiliary evaporator core together with its attached seal from the system. Install the equipment by following the opposite steps of disassembly while using new O-ring seals treated with clean mineral oil and making sure the refrigerant system contains correct amounts of clean PAG oil. Mineral oil from refrigerant compressor should be applied solely for lubrication tasks on R-134a refrigerant system O-ring seals rather than functioning as an A/C compressor lubricating agent for R-134a refrigerant systems. The replacement of a suction accumulator needs installation when signs show contaminated A/C compressor failure or damaged suction accumulator. Perform a vacuum leak test on the evaporator core before removing it because of suspected leakage.
