Master Cylinder

The brake master cylinder repair requires the use of a proper suction device to drain brake fluid from the reservoir before filling with fresh brake fluid that satisfies manufacturer requirements to avoid damage. You should disconnect the coolant reservoir bolts then set the reservoir aside before tightening it to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) when reinstalling it. The service requires disconnecting electrical connectors from the speed control deactivator switch and brake fluid level switch. Then proceed to disconnect and tighten brake tube fittings according to specifications of 28 Nm (21 lb-ft) for vehicles with roll stability control (RSC). You should remove the two PCM bracket nuts to set aside the PCM bracket combination and reinstall these at 20 Nm torque when the repair stage ends. Discard the torque-prevailing brake master cylinder nuts after their removal because new nuts should be utilized with an installation torque setting of 23 Nm (17 lb-ft). After brake master cylinder removal you should install it back again following the reverse order of removal while performing a brake system bleeding to establish correct brake functionality.

The brake master cylinder nuts are torque-prevailing and must be discarded upon removal.
