    Q:
How to service and repair the evaporator core on Ford Crown Victoria? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the evaporator core should begin with disconnecting the battery's ground cable. The service requires you to perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. Separate the two halves of the evaporator housing by removing six screws that secure the A/C evaporator core housing followed by precise cutting of the seal into two places. The tubing installation requires using a back up wrench to maintain the fitting and tube from getting damaged during suction accumulator/drier removal from the evaporator core outlet tube. Extract the screws then get rid of both the suction accumulator/drier followed by the removal of the A/C evaporator core. Install by reversing the removal steps while servicing the new evaporator core with PAG compressor oil YN-12-C F7AZ-19589-DA or an equivalent approved by Ford WSH-M1C231-B specification. Also apply the same oil to lubricate the seal.

    Q:
How to service and repair the A/C evaporator core on Lincoln Town Car? Posted by Customer
    A:
Under the A/C evaporator core service and repair you need to begin with battery ground cable disconnect and Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure execution. To begin, both screws from the RH cowl vent screen must be removed followed by disconnecting the vacuum hoses and wire harness connector from the evaporative emission canister purge valve. Next remove the nuts to extract the valve. After undoing the windshield washer fluid reservoir screw the technician should relocate it before working on releasing the four wire harness retainers mounted on the RH fender apron. Uninstall the RH front wheel and tire before uninstalling the screws from the RH fender apron to extract it. The technicians must remove all wire harness connectors from the A/C cycling switch and blower motor before taking out the connector from its mounting holder. To prevent suction accumulator/drier harm the technician should disconnect the evaporator to compressor suction line through use of a back up wrench. Proceed by disconnecting the suction accumulator/drier from the A/C evaporator core then remove the clamp screw holding the A/C accumulator mounting bracket before disconnecting the condenser to evaporator tube. Start by removing the pushpins from the RH instrument panel insulator before disconnecting its power point wire harness connector. The evaporator housing requires detachment of its in-car temperature sensor hose and elbow before loosening housing nuts at both top and bottom locations and disassembling the blower motor attachment screw and nut. You should first separate the housing to access the blower motor and A/C evaporator core before removing the core with its attached screw from the housing and finishing by taking out the core bracket. Installation requires proper PAG refrigerant compressor oil service of the replacement A/C evaporator core before installing its bracket onto the core for placement inside the housing and securing with an A/C evaporator core screw. When installing bring the blower motor and A/C evaporator core under the evaporator core cover after securing all screws and nuts close to the blower and at both the top and bottom of the evaporator housing. After connecting and securing the power point wire harness connector and coupling the in-car temperature sensor hose and elbow you should reinstall the RH instrument panel insulator along with installing the courtesy lamp holder with pushpins. Secure the condenser to evaporator tube with the A/C evaporator core while applying the same PAG refrigerant compressor oil to lubricate its O-ring seal before fitting the suction accumulator/drier. Apply an additional wrench to prevent nut damage before securing the screw which retains the A/C accumulator mounting bracket. First install the suction line of the evaporator compressor that leads to the suction accumulator/drier and then connect the wire harness to the blower motor and the A/C cycling switch before final installation of the retaining components. The service technician needs to install the RH fender apron and front wheel to tire combination followed by connecting wire harness connectors to top mounting points of the RH fender apron after which the windshield washer reservoir along with the evaporative emission canister purge valve can be placed before relinking vacuum hoses and wire harness connectors. After reinstalling the RH cowl vent screen one must reconnect the battery ground cable followed by performing the Evacuation and Charging Procedure before finally filling the cooling system.
