Evaporator Core

Service of the evaporator core begins by testing for leaks when removal is necessary. The installation of a new A/C desiccant cartridge requires only when contamination comes from failed A/C compressors or when the existing cartridge shows signs of damage. Start the process by removing both heater core and evaporator core housing followed by wire harness detachment from the housing. The evaporator core cover requires removal of its 15 screws before separating the housing into two sections. Pull out the dash panel seal before extracting the evaporator core. During the installation process first undo the removal steps while adding clean PAG oil in the correct amount to the refrigerant system.

The first step for servicing the evaporator core requires performing a leak test on the part before its removal from the system. The correct service of the evaporator core begins by unfastening the heater core and evaporator core housing followed by disconnecting the wire harness from the housing. One must remove the 15 screws which fasten the evaporator core cover before splitting the housing into its two sections. You need to uninstall the dash panel seal followed by removal of the evaporator core. The installation of the components should follow removal steps in reverse order while using the right amount of clean PAG oil to lubricate the refrigerant system.
