Exhaust Manifold, Passenger Side

Service of the right-hand exhaust manifold requires that you place the vehicle in neutral position and use a hoist. Start by removing the transmission filler tube and the starter and then the right-hand inner fenderwell if they apply. Before reinstalling the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter you need to detach the four nuts by tightening them to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Follow the sequence specification when reinstalling the exhaust manifold by tightening the ten nuts and manifold to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Cleaning sealing surfaces must only use plastic scrapers due to their ability to prevent scratches and leaks when completing this process. Metal surface prep should clean the sealing surfaces using instructions from the packaging and the old exhaust manifold gaskets should be discarded. After performing the removal steps the installation process can be finalized.

Remove the nuts, the exhaust manifold, and the gasket, ensuring to discard the old gasket.

By reversing the removal procedure.

Ensure the vehicle is in neutral and positioned on a hoist.

Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold.

Take off the left front wheel and tire.

Tighten them to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

Remove the four nuts connecting the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter, which should be tightened to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) during installation.

Remove and discard the exhaust manifold gaskets.

Take out the right-hand inner fenderwell.

Remove and discard the exhaust manifold gaskets.

Avoid using metal scrapers, wire brushes, or abrasive tools.
