To remove the intake manifold, first, remove the negative terminal of the battery and then use a hose clamp and remove the coolant hose, and take it off the fitting. Next, unbolt the cover from the throttle body and also the intake tube from the throttle body as well as from the air cleaner housing. Remove the two bolts securing the throttle cable(s) to the throttle control linkage and remove the throttle cable bracket located on the intake manifold then removed the TP sensor located on the throttle body and the MAP and IAC and any other electrical connector. Remove all hoses, clips and the engine wiring harness retainers from the manifold next remove bolt for EGR tube bracket and the EGR tube flange. Shove the very big 42 pin harness connector to one side, clear any other brackets, hoses, or connectors out of the way and then remove five bolts at the intake manifold surface before finally pulling out the intake manifold off the engine. For installation, check the condition of the manifold gasket and replace if required, the mating surface should be clean and free of anti seize lubricants as well as cleaned gently without using metal scrapers or abrasive tools, the torque specifications stated should be followed. To get to the exhaust manifold, unbend the car with the negative battery cable and then jack it up to the metal stands firmly. Beats by removing the nuts that connect the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold, use penetrating oil if the nuts are rusted tight. When the cooling system is drained remove the drivebelt and disconnect the upper radiator hose and expansion tank hose and temporarily unbolt the air conditioning compressor but do not disconnect the refrigerant lines. Unconnect the heater hose; do not remove it; and take out the engine oil dipstick and for its tube; then turn the bolts around to take out the coolant pipe also. Level with the ground again the front of the vehicle, then, take off the right inner fender splash shield, then loosen the, electrical connectors from the alternator and the bolts of the lower accessory drive bracket. Finally, after fixing the wheel and levelling the car, undo the bolts for the upper accessory drive bracket and then remove this bracket. Remove the exhaust manifold, and nuts that hold the manifold to the cylinder head; wash the mating surfaces, and inspect for cracks or warping of the wide gasket which needs to be replaced when this occurs. Last but not the least, for installation of the wheel lug nuts and to make sure they are tightened, it has to be done with the required torque.
