Start by taking off the bolt from the transmission cooler tube bracket before removing the nut to set the assembly aside with the tube. Begin by removing three bolts that will position the A/C compressor to a side position before removing the catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts to set aside the catalytic converter flange. The process ends with removing the eight nuts from the exhaust manifold along with a new gasket and discarding all components. To install this component first place an exhaust manifold gasket together with the exhaust manifold then secure the unit with eight nuts using a tightening sequence of 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Position the catalytic converter flange while installing the catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts which need tightening to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.). First install the A/C compressor using bolts that reach 25 Nm torque before placing the transmission cooler tube assembly and nut with proper torque of 9 Nm. Fasten the transmission cooler tube bracket bolt to 15 Nm torque before tightening it to 11 ft. lbs. Reinstall the A/C compressor electrical connector together with the CKP sensor electrical connector. Lock the drive belt tensioner clockwise direction and install the drive belt before reconnecting the negative terminal cable.

After installing the drive belt the technician needs to reconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector and also reconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector. To put on the drive belt rotate the tensioner clockwise before reattaching the negative terminal cable. The necessary safety procedures should be followed before powering up the fire suppression system installed in the vehicle.

Remove the eight nuts securing the exhaust manifold along with the gasket.

The clockspring must be removed and recentered.

Tighten it to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

Reverse the removal procedure.

Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

The clockspring must be removed and recentered.

Remove the eight nuts securing the exhaust manifold along with the manifold and gasket, discarding both the nuts and gasket, and then remove and discard the eight exhaust manifold studs.

Disconnect the exhaust pipe and detach the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system module tube.

Reverse the steps taken during removal.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

Reattach the catalytic converter flange and tighten the catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).

Reverse the steps taken during removal.

Remove the eight nuts securing the exhaust manifold.

Tighten the eight new exhaust manifold studs to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
