Exhaust Pipe

When servicing the exhaust Y-pipe you should replace all fasteners and gaskets while performing face cleaning on flanges before fitting the new gasket to achieve proper sealing. Set the vehicle on the hoist while maintaining NEUTRAL gear position. Tighten the exhaust Y-pipe to the intermediate pipe with new nuts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) after disregarding old gasket and nuts. Reroute the exhaust Y-pipe by unthreading the two Y-pipe left hand catalytic converter nuts and right hand catalytic converter nuts and taking out the Y-pipe while disposing the old nuts and gaskets, then secure the new fasteners at 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). Reinstall the exhaust system while using new gaskets and nuts before starting the engine to confirm no leakage exists in the system.

Reverse the removal procedure, making sure to always use new gaskets and exhaust fasteners.

Start the engine and check for any exhaust leaks.
