    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Filter on Ford Fusion? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting with a hoisted vehicle in NEUTRAL position service and repair professionals should begin the automatic transmission fluid filter operation. The drain plug should be removed for full fluid draining before reinstalling and tightening it to 29 Nm (21 lb-ft). Use a suitable tool to separate the bead of sealer while removing the transmission fluid pan by taking out its bolts. A metal surface cleaner must be used to completely remove silicone residue from the surfaces of the transmission fluid pan along with the transaxle case. During transmission fluid pan installation operatives should apply a 1-1/2 millimeter thick sealer bead onto the transaxle sealing surface but must never exceed this amount to avoid internal transaxle damage. Before clamping down the pan, use 7 Nm (62 lb-in) torque. Then add clean transmission fluid to the transaxle.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Filter on Lincoln Zephyr? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service of the automatic transmission fluid filter begins with hoisting the vehicle into NEUTRAL position. The first step includes removing seven splash shield bolts before extracting the drain plug to let all transmission fluid drain out completely. Replace the drain plug to its position then torque it to 29 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Start with removing the transaxle fluid pan by unscrewing the bolts followed by applying an appropriate tool to break the skin of sealing material. A metal surface cleaner should be used to thoroughly remove the silicone material from both the transaxle fluid pan and transaxle case surfaces. A 1-1/2 millimeter broad seal layer must be placed on the transaxle fluid pan sealing surface prior to assembling the transaxle fluid pan and tightening it to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.). After installation of the splash shield proceed to fill the transmission with clean automatic fluid.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Filter on Mercury Milan? Posted by Customer
    A:
Placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist should be the first step for automatic transmission fluid filter service and repair procedures. Drain the complete fluid through the transmission plug before reinstalling it securely at 29 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Disassemble the transaxle fluid pan by removing its bolts then separating the bead of sealer with suitable instruments. You should use a metal surface cleaner to clean all silicone residue from both the transaxle fluid pan and transaxle case surfaces. The fluid pan installation requires a 1-1/2 millimeter thick sealer application on the fluid pan sealing surface but never use more than the specified amount to avoid damaging the transaxle internally. The tightening torque on the fluid pan should be set to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.) before adding clean automatic transmission fluid to the transaxle.
