Fuel Rail

You should begin fuel rail servicing by releasing the fuel system of vehicles using returnless systems. First remove the air cleaner outlet tube together with the resonator before disconnecting the fuel supply line from the fuel injection supply manifold. Start by unclipping and removing the accelerator cable from its mounting bracket and then proceed with disconnection of the fuel pressure regulator elements which include its electrical components and vacuum routing. Vehicle speed control systems require the disconnect of speed control cables at the throttle body before pulling out the cable by pushing the retaining clip. As a next step disconnect each fuel injector electrical connector after positioning the wiring harness to one side then remove the fuel injection supply manifold. Reverse the uninstallation steps while using XO-10W30-QSP or DSP engine oil or equivalent Ford WSS-M2C-153-H specification to lubricate the lower O-ring seal. A quality new fuel injector lower O-ring seal should be installed for proper operation. Fuels and their vapors are dangerous because they easily combust at all times so handle all such components with caution to prevent personal harm.

The fuel rail service process with speed control should start by subtracting fuel system pressure. The first step requires removing the outlet tube and resonator from the air cleaner and disconnecting both fuel supply and return pipe spring lock couplings. Afterward remove the fuel supply and return hose clamp followed by unconnecting the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator. Begin by detaching the accelerator cable retaining clip. Then remove the accelerator cable from its bracket and disconnect the speed control cable which can be removed easily by detaching the cable while pushing the retaining clip to release the cable length. Before unscrewing the solenoid's electrical connector you must remove its connector grommet from the engine cover along with the fuel injector electrical connectors. Move the fuel injection harness onto one side before removing the fuel injection supply manifold assembly. Install a new fuel injector lower O-ring seal that needs lubrication with clean engine oil such as XO-10W30-QSP or DSP until Ford specification WSSM2C-153-H equivalent is met prior to reinstalling the parts with the reverse installation order.

Reverse the removal procedure to complete the installation.

Take off the fuel supply and return hose clamp, disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator, and remove the accelerator cable retaining clip before disconnecting the accelerator cable from the bracket.
