Filler Hose

A service or repair of the fuel tank filler requires first removing both the fuel tank filler cap and screws fastening the assembly. The service starts with uninstalling both the evaporative emissions canister assembly and the fuel tank filler cap. Exercise caution to protect the fuel filter which lies within proximity to the left side frame rail on the fuel tank since improper placement of vehicle hoisting equipment could damage fuel system elements. Rising the vehicle on a lift allows you to loosen the hose clamp before disconnecting the fuel filler vent hose from the fuel tank filler pipe. Begin by detaching both bolts from the filler pipe bracket and disconnecting the fuel tank from its hose with the filler pipe before extracting the fuel tank filler pipe. The installation will involve the reverse order of removal works.

Start fuel tank filler pipe services by taking off the filler cap followed by remove the holding screws of the assembly. Handle the fuel filter with care because it sits near the left side frame rail of the fuel tank and maintain appropriate positioning of hoisting equipment to shield fuel system parts. The service begins by lifting the vehicle on a hoist after which workers detach the evaporative emissions canister assembly. The hose clamp needs loosening to remove the fuel filler vent hose from the fuel tank filler pipe. The first step is removing two bolts from the filler pipe bracket and disconnecting the fuel tank from its hose connection with the filler pipe while extracting the fuel tank filler pipe. The overall installation requires the opposite order of removal steps.

Detach the vapor tube from the dust separator.

Loosen the hose clamp to detach it.
