Filler Hose

Servicing the fuel tank filler pipe requires you to practice safety by staying away from smoking and lighted tobacco and open flames when near fuel-related components because these areas contain extremely flammable mixtures. Handle fuel carefully and be ready for any spill situations since spilled fuel might ignite through contact with hot vehicle components. The first step should involve emptying the fuel tanks. A separate service of the fuel tank filler pipe hose can be performed independently by releasing its clamp at the fuel tank so you can disconnect and remove it from the vehicle. When reinstalling the hose keep its clamp tension at 3 Nm (27 lb-in). To begin the task open the fuel tank filler cap while also removing its upper retaining piece. First disconnect the air vent tube which has two depressible tabs located in the fuel door pocket. Secure the three bolts with 9 lb-in torque when you reinstall them. The installation process includes disconnection of the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor, FTP sensor from the fuel filler pipe vapor tube and the rear axle vent hose from the dust separator hose. The last step includes bolt removal of the fuel tank filler pipe assembly with torque set at 15 Nm (133 lb-in) for assembly. Perform the opposite actions for reinstalling the system.
