Caliper Assembly, Passenger Side

You should start the brake caliper front servicing process by removing the disc brake caliper and putting it into a vise for secure holding. Honing the piston bores represents an unsafe practice although severe scores or corrosion from them will require installation of new brake disc calipers. Follow the provided assembly order when disassembling the components while the reverse sequence applies to reassembly. The piston should be removed slowly under brief bursts of moderate air pressure to prevent unintended piston movement. Place a piece of wood into the caliper while removing the piston by utilizing moderate air pressure from the bleeder screw port.

Handle brake fluid with care, avoiding contact with eyes and painted or plastic surfaces; if contact occurs, wash with water immediately and seek medical attention if irritation persists.

First, remove the disc brake caliper and secure it in a vise.

Wash off any spills immediately with water, as brake fluid can damage painted or plastic surfaces.

Use clean High Performance DOT 4 Brake Fluid or equivalent DOT 4 fluid meeting Ford specification SAE-J1704-DOT 4, or DOT 3 Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AB if DOT 4 is unavailable.

Flush with running water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
