Master Cylinder

The procedure to remove and install the brake master cylinder begins with disconnecting the electrical connector of the brake fluid level warning switch. A proper suction device should be utilized to collect brake fluid from the brake master cylinder reservoir. To replace the brake master cylinder of a manual transmission vehicle you should loosen the clamp before disconnecting the clutch hose from the reservoir then apply a stopper to the master cylinder feed hose. The brake master cylinder port involves two brake tube fittings that need removal before plugging the ports along with tightening them to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) during installation. Thoroughly discard the two brake master cylinder nuts and install new ones with 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) torque during assembly. Put back the brake master cylinder assembly according to the removal procedure while performing a master cylinder bleed operation and clutch master cylinder bleed if needed. The system needs clean brake fluid which matches manufacturer standards to ensure protection from contamination while immediately washing water on brake fluid spills on painted or plastic surfaces.

Only clean brake fluid meeting the manufacturer's specifications should be used, avoiding any previously drained fluid to prevent contamination and damage.
