The beginning step for spark plug wire servicing requires ignition coil removal before proceeding. Twist the spark plug wire off its plug connection with light pressure in order to create easier access. First separate the spark plug wire separators while taking out the spark plug wire. Installation requires following the opposite steps of removal while applying dielectric compound and silicone brake caliper grease inside the spark plug and ignition coil boots of the spark plug wire. The correct ignition coil terminal requires connection for the spark plug wires during this procedure.

A proper servicing and repair of spark plug wires requires proper connection of spark plug wires to their respective ignition coil terminals. Winding the spark plug wire slightly before pulling it out makes removal possible. The service begins with removing the spark plug wire at the spark plug before twisting and pulling upward to disconnect the wire from the ignition coil. Full spark plug wire extraction becomes possible after opening the spark plug wire separators. The reversal of this process should be applied when reinstalling the spark plug wire. Applying Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A or Ford specification ESE-M1C171-A equivalent should be used when lubricating the inner boots of spark plug and ignition coil on a spark plug wire.
