You should start the automatic transmission shifter repair process after setting the vehicle to NEUTRAL position on a hoist assembly. You must first disconnect the transmission shift cable eyelet from the transmission selector lever arm before you can remove both the retainer from the selector lever assembly front bracket. To begin the procedure start by removing the console shifter bezel before securing both screws on the center console top finish panel. Start by removing the kick panels from the center console of driver and passenger sides then detach the four screws that position the console base for removal. Begin by disconnecting the electrical connector then unfastening two nuts and two screws before gently removing the transmission selector lever assembly from the vehicle. To install the transmission selector lever assembly return it to the vehicle then fasten it with two nuts and two screws applying 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) torque. After securing the six screws into the center console base you should install the kick panels which will sit on the driver and passenger sides. After installing the two screws you should place the center console top finish panel before completing with the console shifter bezel. Last, join the transmission shift cable to the transmission selector lever assembly while making sure the shift cable eyelet fits correctly to the selector lever arm along with validating appropriate shift cable adjustment.

Position the transmission selector lever housing assembly back in the vehicle, securing it with the two nuts and two screws, tightening to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

Disconnect the selector lever electrical connector.

Disconnect the selector lever electrical connector, then remove the two nuts and two screws to carefully lift the transmission selector lever assembly from the vehicle.
