Intake Manifold

The first step when servicing the lower intake manifold is to maintain cleanliness because any foreign objects entering vehicle passages could produce engine failure. The first step involves taking away both the fuel rail alongside the coolant bypass tube. You should disconnect the two heater hoses with the upper radiator hose from the lower intake manifold while removing the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) electrical connector. Write down all positions for the eight small bolts and six large bolts before unfastening them. The removal of the lower intake manifold requires discarding both gaskets and seals from right-hand and left-hand along with front and rear positions. Use a metal surface cleaner to clean all gasket sealing areas before installing new front and rear seals with silicone gasket and sealer in their mounting points. When installing new intake manifold gaskets consumers must check the lower intake manifold positioning not longer than four minutes after applying the sealant. Use silicone gasket and sealer at the lower intake manifold mounting points before installing the bolts in the specified short and long sequences. Follow the specified order to install the bolts by tightening them first to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs) and then to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs). After installing the fuel rail and coolant bypass tube owners should reconnect the IMRC electrical connector and upper radiator hose and install the two heater hoses before restoration of the system. Remove engine oil while draining it from the system and apply engine oil to the new filter seal. After the gasket contacts the housing, apply one-half turn when tightening the filter. After completing oil supply fill the engine unit with fresh engine oil.

Start servicing or repairing the lower intake manifold by taking out the coolant bypass tube along with the fuel injection supply manifold and then discarding both heater hoses connected to the lower intake manifold. First detach the upper radiator hose after releasing its clamp then uninstall the IMRC electrical connector. Keep track of the locations where eight short bolts and six long bolts are attached before disassembling their hardware and finally taking off the lower intake manifold. Discard the gaskets from both right and left-hand lower intake manifold together with the front and rear lower intake manifold seals. After treating all gasket areas with metal surface cleaner users should deploy new front and rear seals while applying silicone gasket and sealant to mounting points. You need to install the intake manifold gaskets after applying sealant to them but before positioning the lower intake manifold within four minutes. Place silicone gasket and sealant onto lower intake manifold mounting points before positioning the part into place while installing the six long bolts and then finishing with the eight short bolts. The lower intake manifold bolts need two-step tightening beginning at 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.) before proceeding to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Reinstall the fuel injection supply manifold and coolant bypass tube after you connect the two heater hoses and upper radiator hose and the IMRC electrical connector. Place a fresh engine oil filter before installing it with half-turn pressure after the gasket reaches the oil filter housing and refill the engine with new engine oil.

Disconnect the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) electrical connector.
