Intake Manifold

First disconnect the battery ground cable before disconnecting the air cleaner outlet tube. Engine damage prevention requires appropriate handling of the engine cooling system drainage process. The next step includes removing the cowl vent screen as well as the engine compartment brace for access to disconnect the fuel line in addition to removing the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system module. The diagrams show the specific sequence for removing components during the service. The installation of the intake manifold requires following the opposite steps from removal. The first step when installing the engine appearance cover support bracket involves removing angle wiring harness retainers. The process of fuel charge manifold removal requires users to disconnect fuel injector and RFI suppressor electrical cords followed by nut removal and engine wire harness retainer before finally picking up RFI suppressor and nut. The intake manifold requires disconnecting the throttle body heater hose yet the downstream throttle body and adapter can remain in place since they are shown removed for clarity purposes. Remove the specified bolts and studs in order before cleaning the sealing surfaces with a plastic tool to prevent surface scratches. Install new intake manifold gaskets followed by attaching the intake manifold onto its space and carefully torquing the bolts per sequence before resuming throttle body heater hose connection. Install the fuel injector components by first mounting the RFI suppressor and its nut then securing the engine wiring harness retainer along with its nuts and completing the connection of the fuel injector and RH suppressor electrical connectors. Connect the engine wiring harness release to the engine appearance cover support bracket.

Disconnect the throttle body heater hoses.

The fuel line.

Drain the engine cooling system carefully to avoid engine damage.

Reconnect the vacuum supply tube, crankcase ventilation tube, fuel rail temperature sensor, EVAP hose, throttle body, fuel pressure sensor, and TP sensor electrical connectors.

Reconnect the eight fuel injectors and the radio interference ignition capacitor electrical connectors.

Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe, cowl panel grille, and disconnect the fuel supply tube spring lock coupling from the fuel rail.
