Inflator Curtain, Driver Side

No one is in the vehicle and nothing obstructs any air bag module.

Begin by depowering the system and opening the glove compartment door, detaching the dampener if equipped.

Always carry or place a live air bag module with the air bag and deployment door/trim cover/tear seam pointed away from the body.

Use a small screwdriver to lift and release the locking buttons on both the right-hand and left-hand electrical connectors, ensuring not to pull them out by the buttons to avoid damage.

Always wear eye protection and avoid probing electrical connectors on air bag modules to prevent accidental deployment, which can lead to serious injury or death.

Depower the system, open and lower the glove compartment door, unhook it from the instrument panel, detach the dampener if equipped, release the 5 retaining clips to remove the RH instrument panel finish panel, remove the screw from the LH duct assembly bracket, and the screws for both duct assemblies through the glove compartment opening. Then, remove the 4 bolts and the passenger air bag module support bracket, followed by the 3 nuts from the passenger air bag module. Carefully lower the rear of the module off the 3 mounting studs, moving it rearward to release the 7 hooks from the instrument panel, and rest it on the cross vehicle beam.

Remove the 4 bolts securing the passenger air bag module support bracket and the 3 nuts from the passenger air bag module.

Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag modules, and do not repaint discolored or damaged modules; instead, install new ones to ensure proper deployment.
