    Q:
How to service the rear window wiper motor on Mercury Mariner? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service access to the rear window wiper motor requires users to confirm proper parking by enabling ON function and permitting at least one complete cycle. After switching off the wiper motor you need to mark the position of the blade tip on the back glass for its future reattachment. The rear pivot arm requires detachment through an upright lift motion followed by unlocking the tab and pull-up detachment. Next remove the rear wiper motor shaft nuts cover before taking off the nut and reinstall the shaft nut securely at 7 Nm (62 lb-in). Remove the rear wiper motor cover first and then the bracket nut before securing them with 4 Nm (35 lb-in) tightness. Prior to removing the bolt and the rear wiper motor you need to ensure that you tighten it to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) when replacing them. Reinstall the rear wiper by working in the opposite order and set the rear wiper pivot arm to its correct position.
