    The first step when repairing the brake vacuum pump requires removal of the accessory drive belt. Cut off power to the vacuum pump by releasing both clamp mechanisms and vacuum hose. A short socket combined with an extension allow people to reach the bolt which is behind the pulley. Remove the three securing bolts from the vacuum pump and proceed to uninstall it. The bolt tightening torque should be set to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft) and the same installation order should be used to finish the work.

Remove first the three vacuum pump securing bolts before extracting the pump from its location. For the new pump installation you should perform the bolt tightening to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft) and execute the necessary reverse steps to reinstall all components.
