Service and repair work on the radiator starts with draining the cooling system. Begin by disassembling the connection of air cleaner outlet tube followed by disconnecting the overflow hose. Take the cooling fan shroud off then disconnect both radiator hoses from the upper and lower positions. A back up wrench should be used to prevent the transmission oil cooler fittings from getting disturbed while removing the two transmission cooling lines. Use a socket set to remove the radiator by untightening its two bolts and then extract the radiator from its position. The installation process ends by following all reversal steps from removal phase.

Automatic transmission vehicles require rejoining transmission cooler tubes to their radiator while maintaining a tightness of 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Lower and upper hoses should be connected before putting back the cooling fan shroud and reconnecting the radiator overflow hose. The cooling system needs to be filled with correct fluid while bleeding occurs while standing clear of engine cooling fan blades to prevent injuries. Monitor the engine operation for several minutes before inspecting all hoses and connections for leaks. The procedure for checking and filling transmission fluid applies to vehicles with automatic transmissions.
