Seat Cushion, Rear

Service access to the rear seat cushion starts with removing both sections comprising 40 percent of the 60/40 bench in the second row. Then remove the backrest section comprising 40 percent of the 60/40 bench seat. Separate the seat upholstery carefully from the hook and loop strip because it will cause the strip to break off from the seat cushion foam pad. You need to unclip the J-clips first after which you should disconnect the hook and loop fasteners and then take off the seat cushion trim cover. The second step requires taking out the cushion foam pad together with the cushion pad supports. Final assembly of the car requires a mirror-image reorganization of disassembly steps.

Disassemble the parts in the order indicated in the accompanying illustration and table.

Remove all staples and lift the material to access the backrest nut and bolts.

Release the hydraulic strut attachment clips, noting that the seat mount and bracket mount are identical in this process.

Pinch to release the retainer clip, then detach the cable end hook from the retaining hole and position the cable to the side.

Disassemble the components in the order specified in the accompanying illustration and table.

Remove the two latch nuts to separate the latch pivot from the latch assembly, tightening to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) during reassembly.

Detach the seat backrest material attachment from the latch cover.

Release all seat backrest J-clips and slightly raise the backrest trim cover.

Begin by removing the rear seat from the vehicle.

Take out the cushion foam pad and the two cushion pad supports.
