    Q:
How to remove and replace the rear brake disc on Ford Escape? Posted by Customer
    A:
A driver should begin by taking off the wheel and tire before starting the process of replacing the rear brake disc. Before working disconnect the battery and remove fuse 24 (50A) and 31 (50A) from the battery junction box to stop the accumulator from charging and preventing brake system pressurization. Maintain control of the brake pad assembly and caliper when they suspend from the brake hose in order to prevent any damage. You should disconnect the two brake caliper guide pin bolts before positioning the caliper and brake pad assembly to one side supported by mechanic's wire. The caliper bolts must get torqued to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) during reinstallation. Next, remove the brake disc. The process requires removal of the adjustment hole access plug to retract the parking brake shoes by rotating the adjuster when the brake disc binds with the parking brake shoes. Perform the opposite sequence of removal steps to finish the installation before checking the parking brake shoe adjustment.

    Q:
How to Remove and Replace the Rear Brake Disc on Mercury Mariner? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the replacement and removal process of the rear brake rotor/disc by positioning the vehicle in NEUTRAL on a hoist. Begin the procedure by taking out first the brake pads then the brake disc. By removing the adjustment plug you can reach the hole to retract the parking brake shoe and lining through adjuster rotation when the brake disc binds with the lining. Use the inverted removal steps to set up the new brake disc then reset the parking brake shoe and lining according to requirement.

    Q:
How to Remove and Install a Brake Disc in a Rear Disc Brake System on Mercury Mariner? Posted by Customer
    A:
Parking the vehicle at NEUTRAL position on a hoist is the starting point for servicing brake rotor/disc. Start by removing brake pads before completing the removal of brake disc. By removing the plug you can access the adjustment hole to retract the parking brake shoe and lining through adjuster rotation when the brake disc binds on the shoe and lining. Installation starts first with reversing the removal process and making shoe and lining parking brake adjustments if needed.
