    Q:
How to service the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the 4R70E/4R75E automatic transmission on Ford Expedition? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before servicing the transmission speed sensors of a 4R70E/4R75E automatic transmission the vehicle must be placed in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. The first step for the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor service requires disconnecting its electrical connector followed by removing the sensor bolt to complete removing the OSS sensor. Detach the TSS sensor electrical connector before removing its bolt and removing the TSS sensor. The installation procedure includes applying lubrication to the O-ring seal before installing the TSS sensor with its bolt tightened to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Subsequently connect the TSS sensor electrical connector. First install and tighten the OSS sensor with 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.) torque value before reattaching its electrical connector.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Vehicle Speed Sensor on Ford F-150? Posted by Customer
    A:
It is essential to raise your vehicle while you support it before maintenance work begins on the Transmission Speed Sensor. Separate the functioning sensor from the system when it is either the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) or Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) sensor. Start by removing the bolt from TSS before extracting the sensor when removal is needed. Place the Heated Oxygen Sensor connector to a position where it does not interfere. The OSS sensor service requires you to first disassemble its bolt and afterward remove the sensor from its connection point. The O-ring should be lubricated before installing the OSS sensor piece with its bolt for installation. Reinstall the HO2S connector in its proper position for the unit. Fitting the TSS requires applying lubricant to its O-ring before installing and securing the sensor with the bolt. The installation process ends with reconnecting the affected sensor either OSS or TSS and lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the Turbine Shaft and Output Shaft on Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer
    A:
Serving and repairing the Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor and Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor starts with putting the vehicle into NEUTRAL position and raising it on a hoist. Drill out transmission insulator-to-crossmember support nuts prior to installing a suitable high-lift transmission jack which will support the transmission. The next step requires removal of crossmember bolts and subsequent removal of the crossmember. This action enables transmission sensor access at the rear section. Breaking the electrical connection of the affected sensor requires gentle action with attention to keep foreign materials or dirt from contaminating the contact points. Isolate the TSS by removing its bolt followed by the sensor when required. Put the Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S) connector at a safe location while possibly removing the OSS by detaching its bolt followed by the sensor removal. The installation process should prevent all forms of sensor contamination. You should lubricate the O-ring of the removed OSS before reinstallation using its bolt to secure it into place. Proceed with reattaching the H02S connector while installing the TSS with its lubricated O-ring by securing it with a bolt. One nut should be used to strap down the crossmember transmission mount before raising the transmission to orientate the crossmember bolt openings. Then reconnect the electrical connector to the targeted sensor. Fasten the transmission crossmember bolts then remove the lifted transmission jack while letting the vehicle descend.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the 4R100 Automatic Transmission on Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer
    A:
The correct procedure for servicing the Transmission Speed Sensor of the 4R100 Automatic Transmission begins by first putting the vehicle into NEUTRAL mode before securing it on a hoist. The 4x2 Navigator requires the removal of its bolts then its dampening component. Starting with transmission insulator-to-crossmember support nuts removal you should proceed to the left-hand and right-hand heat shield-to-crossmember bolts before finishing with nuts removal. Use an appropriate high-lift transmission jack to support the transmission before uninstalling both components and their bolts from the crossmember. Lower the transmission's rear end before accessing the sensors where you need to disconnect the electrical connection of the affected sensor. Follow proper contamination prevention measures while removing the Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) sensor by firstly unbolting it and subsequently removing the sensor. The procedure also includes the removal of Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor after uninstalling its bolt. Before installing the OSS begin by applying lubricant on the O-ring followed by bolt attachment. Reconnect the H02S sensor to its position and apply lubrication to the TSS O-ring when the TSS removal occurred before installing with its bolt. The electrical connector should be reattached to the sensor followed by reinstalling the transmission mount crossmember with one nut keeping it secure during the transmission height adjustment process to align bolt holes. Secure the crossmember bolts before tightening the remaining nut and both nuts. Left-hand heat shield-to-crossmember bolts need to be reinstalled while the Navigator 4x2 requires reinstallation of the dampener together with its bolts. Finish by taking out the high-lift transmission jack then lower the vehicle.
