Starting service and repair on the turn signal switch demands disconnecting the battery ground cable. You will need to remove first the two screws which lock the steering column opening cover and after that take out the three screws that maintain the upper and lower steering column shrouds. Start by disconnecting the multi-function switch electrical connector then remove its securing screws one by two. Be sure to tighten the new multi-function switch to 3 Nm (27 lb-inch) before performing the reverse steps of installation to finish the work. The removal process of ignition lock cylinder and ignition switch at the same time can cause damage to the steering column.

The turn signal switch service requires disconnecting the battery ground cable first.
