The power seat switch must be serviced by wearing safety glasses during air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) vehicle work and air bag module handling to avoid risks of accidental deployment injuries. Hand washing with soap and water should follow deployment to clear sodium hydroxide residues which could potentially harm the skin. The supplemental restraint system needs to be deactivated before starting the operation. Proceed to remove the front seat yet always follow the necessary air bag warnings throughout the operation. First disconnect the power seat switch electrical connector, remove the rear screw and front seat cushion side shield screws before detaching the complete side shield while paying attention to protect its tabs. The first removal step involves connecting the cables between the electrical connector of the lumbar support control switch and the adjusting hoses from the adjusting switch. Remove the heated seat switch electrical connector when it is available. Start the process by removing front seat cushion side shield screws which leads to 6-way power seat switch removal. The installation procedure requires reversing all removal steps including correct removal of the restraint system diagnostic tool before operating the vehicle on the road to prevent injuries and safety violations. The technician must activate and test the supplemental restraint system along with verifying the air bag system operates correctly and validating proper restaint system performance.

Remove the lumbar support knob, the rear side shield screw, and release the side shield clips by depressing them.
