How to service and repair the power seat switch on Ford Explorer?

It is necessary to set the gear selector at neutral before starting power seat switch repairs or maintenance. Start by removing the console trim ring after which open the center console door to get access to the 2 screws. The procedure starts with pulling on the console finish panel to free its retainers followed by disconnecting the power point electrical connector to pull out the panel. The process starts with pulling on the retainers until the instrument panel center lower right-hand and left-hand finish panels detach from their positions followed by the instrument panel center finish panel. Take off the memory set switch by disconnecting the electrical connector while releasing the 4 tabs. The installation process should be finished by reversing all steps of removal.

How to service the Seat Switch for the seat heater and seat control on Ford Mustang?

Maintenance of both seat heater switch and seat control switch requires operators to depower the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and to thoroughly inspect SRS functionality before returning the vehicle to the customer. Start the service by removing both the clip and recline handle followed by the seat control switch knob. The screw at the cushion side shield rear needs removal before you pull the side of the cushion side shield to detach retaining clips and the pin-type retainer which allows separation of the side shield. The seat control switch can be extracted from the cushion side shield after disconnecting its switch and releasing holders. Check retained clips on the cushion side shield for damage then replace them with new retainers if needed. The installation process concludes by reverting the removal procedure while powering up the SRS system.
