Power Steering Return Hose

A vital requirement when servicing and repairing the power steering line from steering gear to fluid cooler return hose is blocking contaminants from entering the power steering system which prevents early component failure. The safety of vehicle operations depends on turning off air suspension electrical power through switching off the air suspension switch which exists near the jack storage space in the rear passenger compartment since failure to shut it off may result in unexpected air spring changes that could shift the vehicle during maintenance tasks. The vehicle should be positioned steadily on a hoist while the gears remain in NEUTRAL mode. The pushpins and deflector shield need removal on all Navigator vehicles. Start by disconnecting the hose and then eliminate the bolt alongside the oil drip shield while complete the process by taking off the bolt. Remove the hose by detaching it from the frame rail retainers before taking it out completely. You should reverse the hose installation steps after confirming that the power steering system has no leaks.

Remove the three reservoir bolts, disconnect the clamp, and remove the return line, allowing the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering return line from the reservoir.

It may lead to unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, potentially causing vehicle shifting and personal injury.
