Repair and servicing of the HVAC hose starts with executing a refrigerant discharging and recovery servicing. After loosening the tube clamp service personnel should disconnect the condenser to evaporator line from the A/C evaporator core by performing the spring lock coupling disconnect and connect procedure. Proceed with removing first eight pin retainers with the sight shield then disconnecting the condenser-to-evaporator line from the A/C condenser core to extract the line. Installation of new parts should begin by performing the reverse steps from removal while using PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent oil that fulfills Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B to lubricate all O-ring seals.

Start by obtaining all refrigerant from the condenser to evaporator line to perform servicing. Next, remove the tube clamp. The intercooler tube must be removed along with both clamps when servicing 6.0L diesel engine vehicles. Reinstall the clamps by setting torque to 4 Nm which represents 35 lb-in. Unplug the condenser to evaporator line at the A/C evaporator core after taking out all eight pin-type retainer clips and the sight shield. Remove the line from the A/C condenser core before its removal while tightening the connection to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) for reinstallation. Remove the worn-out O-ring seals from the system before installing new ones together with proper cleaning PAG oil for lubrication of the refrigerant components. Finish the process by evacuating the refrigerant system followed by leak testing and charging it with refrigerant.

Lubricate the O-ring seals with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent that meets Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.

Connect the rear auxiliary evaporator inlet line fitting(s) and snap the rear auxiliary evaporator line(s) into the line brackets.

Evacuate, leak test, and charge the refrigerant system.

Loosen the A/C manifold and tube bolt to remove the manifold and tube assembly, tightening it to 21 Nm (15 lb-ft) upon reinstallation and discarding the O-ring seals.

Install the rear auxiliary evaporator inlet line and connect it to the auxiliary evaporator inlet line, lubricating the O-ring seals with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil.

Reverse the removal procedure, ensuring to install new O-ring seals and lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.

Remove four screws, three bolts, and three pin-type retainers, followed by the vacuum reservoir retaining nuts.

Reverse the removal procedure, using new O-ring seals and lubricating the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.
