You should start servicing the condenser to evaporator line by putting the vehicle on a hoist with NEUTRAL gear position selected. The technician should first recover refrigerant then take off the wiper motor and pivot assembly followed by field service instructions for remaining components removal sequence. The R-134a refrigerant system O-ring seals must be lubricated using F73Z-19577-AA (Motorcraft YN-9-A) mineral oil and PAG refrigerant compressor oil F7AZ-19D589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or another oil equivalent to Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B serves as the A/C compressor lubricant. Whenever reattaching an A/C fitting that was previously disconnected you must use new O-ring seals that received mineral oil lubrication. The installation steps involve performing the opposite order of removal while using proper clean PAG oil lubrication on the refrigerant system and concluding with an evacuation and leak testing procedure to charge the system. You should replace the suction accumulator only when system contamination appears from a deficient A/C compressor or damaged suction accumulator.

Remove the suction accumulator outlet fitting nut, discard the O-ring seal, install the new fitting, and tighten it to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

Disconnect the fittings at the rear tube-in-tube fitting and remove the bolts and line brackets.

Remove the condenser inlet fitting nut, discard the O-ring seal, and tighten the new one to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

Discard the O-ring seals from the evaporator inlet fitting and the evaporator core orifice access fitting.

Remove the nuts and line bracket while discarding the O-ring seals.

Reverse the removal procedure, using new O-ring seals and lubricating the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.

Reverse the removal procedure for installation using new O-ring seals lubricated in clean mineral oil.
